1. Missions in teaching
a. Providing basic training environment for learning integrated technologies (merging mechanical engineering, optics, electronics, electrical engineering and material engineering into precision manufacturing, precision measurement and precision inspection).
b. Training students in designing and manufacturing micro-precision elements and micro-precision systems.
2. Missions in research
a. Developing micro-manufacturing and assembly technologies.
b. Developing technologies in precision measurement, precision inspection and precision control.
c. Developing integrated design of precision systems and technologies in manufacturing precision systems.
d. Developing technologies in MEMS, semiconductor and precision environmental control.
